In the land of beauty boxes, Vegan Cuts offers a larger quantity of products in each box; 4-7 items rather than 4 or 5. They explain on their website that product sizes will range from deluxe sample, travel size, and full size totaling at least $30 in value and sometimes far exceeding that amount. Further, the shipping is always free. I was less than impressed with Vegan Cuts response to a specific question in their FAQ section. With each box including more products of varying sizes, the tradeoff is that VC lacks consumer customization for varying skin tones and complexions. That, by itself, is not a deterrent for me as a fashionista consumer. The response in the FAQ section regarding skin allergies and concerns was, “dab it on and try it and if it doesn’t work for you, give it to a friend because ‘you’re nice like that.’” I realize they were going for light-hearted humor, but as someone with relatively dry skin as well as extremely fair skin, a one-size-fits-all box design leaves me wary. But I digress …
The breakdown:
Vegan Cuts |
1 mo: (recurring) $19.95
3 mos: $59 6 mos: $115 1 year: $215 |
Can expect 4-7 products either deluxe samples, travel size samples, or full size products. |
Each box contains a mix of 4-7 items and a card explaining the contents in detail. Product types range from unique cosmetics to luxurious skincare. The box is similar to PV, but I’ve read other bloggers who have experienced some difficulty in receiving items that haven’t shifted or leaked. |
“While all of the products are vegan and cruelty-free, we cannot customize boxes to avoid specific ingredients. Brands like: 100% Pure, balanced guru, LUSH, One Love Organics, Pacifica |
Retail value of $30 or more. Past boxes have sometimes been packed with surprises reaching $80 or more in value. |
Box shipping dates are viewable on the website and are mid-month. Billing takes place the 10th of every month recurring subs. |
Although no promotions are listed on the website, the newsletter sign up indicates that subscribers to the e-news will receive promotions, updates and exciting news about products. |
Overall, I would say Vegan Cuts is worth a try. The price is right (free shipping!), the size and array of products is substantial and they allow subscribers to get an all-in-one box of both snacks and beauty.
